Are you ready to stop the rotten-tomato fight in your head?
Your inner critic is holding you back
Your inner critic is keeping you from doing what you really want to do – from enjoying some of the simple pleasures of life, all the way up to doing That Thing you know you’re meant to bring into the world. It has endless reasons why you’re not allowed, not good enough, not smart enough, and so on and on and on.
Your inner critic is also keeping you from being who you truly are, telling you that you’re too loud – too quiet – too this, too that, and again, on and on and on.
I get the frustration. I’ve been there. From asking for a raise to starting a business to having a loving, caring relationship, my personal regiment of inner critics has given me plenty of “you can’t do that – you can’t have that – what you want doesn’t matter” messages.
For a long time, I just … dealt with it. I figured it was how life was: there was this voice in my head that told me what I could and couldn’t do, who I should and shouldn’t be, right down to the correct way to fold my underwear.
But then one day it dawned on me that these voices had kept me from being as successful in my career as I knew I could have been.
And as a business owner, they were keeping me from serving the people who really need my help.
It wasn’t just me those voices were affecting; it was all the people around me. My friends, my family, my clients, my husband – the inner critic impacts all the people in our lives. And it keeps us from being who we really are and doing the things that really matter to us – things that also matter to the welfare of our families, our communities, and our world.
I had already learned a lot about motivation, communication, personal and organizational change, and why people do (or don’t do) the things they do
There are a ton of assumptions out there about motivation, change, and the creation of new habits.
There’s a lot of you gotta just do it talk about “adulting,” being strong, having willpower, going for what you want, and being determined.
And there’s a lot of you gotta just believe it talk about manifestation, the Law of Attraction, self-empowerment, and self-love.
There’s some truth in all of it, but you need ALL of it. Just-do-it doesn’t work without belief, and just-believe-it doesn’t work without action.
Plus, there’s an essential piece of information that’s left out: the actual neuroscience behind why change is difficult and how we make choices and decisions.
For now, let’s just say the brain is not naturally wired to embrace change, even as desireable a change as turning down the volume on the inner critic!
Taking in all the information and applying it, I began to see results
I felt happier, more confident, more capable, and my business responded by growing, becoming more stable, and more fun and profitable (yay!). My relationships became deeper and more real, and my experience of myself became grounded in who I am and what I want to feel and be and do.
And of course my clients experienced results as well: their relationships improved, their careers and businesses thrived, and they too felt happier, more confident, and more capable. (Yay!)
Managing your Inner Critic: how to stop the rotten-tomato fight in your head
I’ve taken the best from all the things I studied, learned, and developed for myself and with my clients to create this program.
There are too many people – people like YOU – struggling with their inner critics. Struggling to live the life they want, and to have the career, relationship, and personal success they deserve.
(Yes, deserve. You can tell your inner critic I said so – and yes, I heard it say “wait, what do you mean deserve?”)
I want you to have the results my clients and I have experienced. Because now more than ever, the world needs all of us to be all of ourselves.
Module One – You and Your Rotten Tomatoes
Module Two: building new habits of thought and action
The Half Module: affirmations – why they don’t work AND how to create ones that DO work
I had to include something on affirmations, but it wouldn’t fit into the other two modules. Thus was born the Half Module!
